As the siege and attacks on Şırnak continue, a local employee at Şırnak State Hospital was suspended with the excuse that she or he "leaked information." It is unclear who ordered the suspension of this employee, and the hospital administration has ordered other employees to leave Şırnak during the curfew.
Prior to the announcement of the on-going curfew in Şırnak on March 14, the staff of Şırnak State Hospital was reassigned to medical facilities across Şırnak’s districts, and the National Medical Units affiliated with AFAD were assigned to Şırnak State Hospital.
There are currently 3 bodies that are being kept at the hospital morgue. YPS General Coordination had announced the death of Yasin Elçi, and Elçi’s family had applied to the hospital in order to identify their child’s body. Elçi’s family later announced that none of the 3 bodies at Şırnak State Hospital turned out to be Yasin Elçi’s.
YPS General Coordination had announced that 8 resistance fighters lost their lives during the state forces’ siege of Şırnak. Below are the names of the YPS and YPS-JIN members who lost their lives in Şırnak:
"Gurbet Kaya, Salih Batmaz, Ömer Aslan, Mahmut Sürgit, Mehmet İnal, Ceylan Sayar, Yasin Elçi ve Botan Nusaybin."
