Following the appointment of the Governor of Kirkuk, steps have begun to be taken to re-establish local administration in the city, said Kirkuk Provincial Council member Pervin Fatih to PUK media.
Fatih said that the appointed Governor of Kirkuk is waiting for the presidential decree, and added: “The final official decision will be made in the next few days and he will officially start his duties. This is the procedure of the state. These procedures need to be fulfilled as soon as possible.”
Pervin Fatih reiterated once again that they made a promise to the people and that they will keep that promise.
Fath said that there are 7,400 administrative officers in Kirkuk, and underlined that they have not been called yet and that some special measures need to be taken to re-establish these positions. According to Pervin Fatih, positions need to be determined fairly. He pointed out that solving the land problem experienced by Kurdish farmers in Kirkuk is among their responsibilities and stated that they will take the necessary steps for this.
