Hundreds of Yazidi families restrained by the KDP in Duhok and Zakho, escaped from the camps and reached Shengal as a result of provocation by the KDP and affiliated circles. Not satisfied with this, the KDP-affiliated circles continue to target Yazidis. Sûad Hiso, a member of the Syrian Yazidi Union, spoke to ANHA about the speeches of KDP executives targeting Yazidis.
Sûad Hiso stated that the speeches made by KDP officials on the anniversary of the Shengal Massacre in 2014 were aimed at stirring up discord and said, “These speeches are intended to pave the way for the new Ottomans. During the Ottoman period, fatwas were issued against Yazidis. Reactionaries were speaking and the Yazidis were being attacked. Now they want to develop the same concept and attack the Yazidis. They are trying to make us forget the massacres.”
Sûad Hiso stated that KDP forces abandoned the Yazidis to be slaughtered in the last onsluaght on Shengal (3 August 2014) and said, “At that time, the Peshmerga forces withdrew. Dirty plans have been carried out against Yazidis throughout history. Now they want to do this by provoking conflict and discord in society. They do not want all components to live together. They want Yazidis to become refugees and to be subjected to white genocide.”
Stating that the Autonomous Administration system was established in Shengal as a result of the great resistance against the genocidal mentality, Sûad Hiso continued: “Hundreds of guerrillas were martyred for the protection of Shengal and the Yazidi community. The society no longer sees any difference between the components. We have autonomy. Yazidis recognised themselves and their society. The Democratic Nation paradigm has shown us everything.”
Sûad Hiso concluded: “The whole society must protect their religion against attacks and protect their nation and culture. We must develop the spirit of neighbourliness and friendship against the spirit of sedition. Until today, we have stood against these massacres with the power and paradigm of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. In this process, women took the lead in protecting their own people.”
