Syrian Democratic Forces enter Tishrin town

After yesterday's liberation of the strategic Tishrin Dam and its surroundings, Syrian Democratic Forces (QSD) are continuing the second round of their military operations against ISIS in the southern countryside of Kobanê town.

YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces first took control of the dam and then liberated it entirely Saturday evening, upon which they crossed over to the western bank of Euphrates where they are making further advances now.

As QSD combatants have entered Tishrin town Sunday noon, clashes are taking place with ISIS groups near the buildings at the entrance of the town.

A bomb-laden vehicle operated by gangs from Minbic has been destroyed before reaching the targeted QSD groups.

Syrian Democratic Forces continue making a controlled advance in the area as gang groups are holding civilians and using them as a shield against QSD groups. A number of ISIS emplacements have been destroyed in the offensive which is provided with relative support by international coalition aircraft.

In the meantime, reports are coming through that ISIS gangs have begun to flee from Minbic to Bab town in the face of the rapid progress made by Syrian Democratic Forces.
