Clashes erupted in Rojava's Hesekê city after Syrian regime forces attacked the asayish (public security) forces earlier today.
Syrian regime forces attacked the asayish (public security) forces guarding the Nehda school in Qamishlo Street of Rojava's Hesekê city at 09:00 local time this morning. Asayish forces retaliated against the attack which left one civilian wounded. YPG units were also reinforced to the area to provide support to asayish forces.
4 more civilians got injured during the continued clashes in the following hours. While asayish forces suffered no casualties, 5 members of regime forces died and 10 others were wounded. The fighting ceased at noon.
Speaking to ANF, İbrahim Haseki from asayish units said that; "Regime forces have conducted these attacks to intimidate the people. Yet, we as asayish forces acted sensibly and didn't allow the fighting to escalate. The situation is calm at the moment."
