Reactions to the murder of Kurdish female revolutionary Firyal Süleyman Halid as a result of an armed attack in Kirkuk on 18 January continue to grow.
The Yazidi Free Women's Movement (TAJÊ) held a press conference in Sinûn township of Shengal, and reiterated its determination to fight, noting that every murdered revolutionary woman would further increase their anger.
“Martyr Firyal's efforts have been great in the struggle of the oppressed”
TAJÊ Coordination member Neam Bedel read the statement and pointed out the partnership of the KDP and the Turkish state in the murder of Firyal Süleyman. “Firyal Süleyman fought for 31 years. Martyr Firyal's contribution to the struggle of the oppressed was great. Martyr Firyal, who devoted her life to the struggle, was murdered by the Turkish state and its mercenaries in Kirkuk. Wherever they are, women are massacred when they oppose the occupation.”
The statement continued: “It is not the first time that the occupying Turkish state, in partnership with the KDP, massacred our female comrades. The KDP and the occupying Turkish state are afraid of the power of women. They should know well that women are not afraid."
