Neighborhoods protected by popular resistance are under ongoing aggression of state forces in Silopi district of Şırnak.

HDP Şırnak MP Ferhat Encü who is in the district at the moment stated that the neighborhood of Zap is being targeted by intensified tank attacks. Huge blasts are occurring in the neighborhood.

According to information provided by Encü, the ongoing tank aggression has targeted a house in Barbaros neighborhood, leaving one person dead and 3 injured.

The Kurdish town of Silopi went under a curfew the night before in the wake of heavy clashes between YPS units and state forces in Cudi neighborhood where Turkish units suffered many casualties.

Yesterday, a civilian by the name of Bahattin Tonguç was shot and heavily wounded by bullets fired by Turkish security members in Başak neighborhood.

In the meantime, special operation police units have been deployed in some houses in Barbaros and Başak neighborhoods. A number of armored vehicles have also been dispatched to the district.
