The invading Turkish state is implementing an aggravated isolation policy against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and rejecting all appeals the lawyers and the family make for varying excuses. The Kurdistani and world public are increasingly critical of the isolation policies.
Residents of the Tirbêspiyê district of Qamishlo stressed that the isolation violates human rights and international law and that the isolation was implemented to stop Öcalan’s ideas that bring peace to the peoples of the Middle East.
“ISOLATION AIMS TO DISRUPT THE COMMON LIFE THE PEOPLES HAVE”
Syriac intellectual Suhîl Serkîs said the Turkish state has enacted policies of massacres against the peoples of Mesopotamia and the whole Middle East for centuries: “Leader Öcalan fights for the freedom of all oppressed peoples. That is why he was arrested and that is why he is held under a strict isolation.”
Serkîs stated that the practices against Öcalan constitute a crime against humanity and that the isolation targets the democratic nation and the common life of the peoples.
Nebîl Nano, who migrated to Tirbêspiyê from Deir Ez Zor, said the Arab peoples have been deprived of their rights for centuries but they have started to take them back and live free, thanks to Öcalan’s ideas and philosophy. Nano added that the continuing isolation is in violation of international law.
Menfiye Seîd stressed that Öcalan has paved the way for women’s freedom and added that the states who call for rights and laws don’t even comply with their own. Seîd also stressed that the silence of Western states in the face of the isolation is a sign of their partnership to the isolation policies.
