Three people from the Arvas family were sent to prison
Three of the four members of the Arvas family, who were taken into custody in a gendarmerie and special operations raid in Westan on Wednesday, were arrested and sent to prison.
Three of the four members of the Arvas family, who were taken into custody in a gendarmerie and special operations raid in Westan on Wednesday, were arrested and sent to prison.
A raid was carried out on the village of Daldere (Zîguh) in Van's Westan (Gevaş) district on Wednesday morning by Turkish gendarmerie and special operations forces. Turkish soldiers searched the houses in the village for about two hours, insulted the villagers and scattered their belongings around.
M. Şakir Arvas, Ali Arvas, Medeni Arvas and Müyesser Arvas, were taken into custody. The 4 people taken into custody were taken to Bitlis provincial police.
While Müyesser Arvas was released, the other three people were arrested and sent to Ahlat prison after giving their statements to the prosecutor's office. While no clear information could be obtained regarding the accusations against those arrested, it was learned that a confidentiality order was imposed on the file.
