Turkish jets and helicopters yesterday bombed the Cehennem Deresi (Hell Gutter) located between Şırnak's İdil district and Mardin's Nusaybin district.

One lieutenant and two soldiers were killed in a clash that erupted in the area during a military operation launched by Turkish troops and village guards after the bombardment.

The operation in the area is reported to be going on.
