According to the People's Defence Forces (HPG), three soldiers of the Turkish invading forces were killed in the Zap region in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) on Saturday. According to the daily overview of the HPG press centre, mobile guerrilla teams used heavy weapons four times against the Turkish army in the areas of Çemço and Sîda in the sub-district of Sheladize near the town of Amadiya on 14 January. Three of the guerrilla actions were directed against ground troops, while in the fourth action, guerrillas prevented soldiers from being dropped in Çemço by firing on a transport helicopter.
On the other hand, the Turkish army carried out eleven chemical weapons attacks against guerrilla positions in Çemço on Saturday. The guerilla positions near the village of Sîda were bombed twice by fighter jets. The Turkish army carried out dozens of other attacks with howitzers, tanks and heavy weapons on the guerrilla positions in Çemço and Sîda as well as on the Girê FM and Girê Cûdî resistance.
