Mustafa Yaman who has been appointed as trustee to the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality halted construction for social life homes launched by the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality.

Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayors Ahmet Türk and Februniye Akyol had planned to construct Social Life Homes in every neighborhood in Mardin, but the efforts have been halted with the appointment of the trustee.

Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayors Türk and Akyol planned construction of asphalt roads and social life homes to all rural neighborhoods in Mardin according to demand from the people.

The trustee first shut down the food bank opened for the harmed families in Nusaybin, and now has ended the projects of Social Life Homes that the people would use for meetings and condolences.

As decided by the AKP-appointed trustee, no more Social Life Homes will be constructed and the Social Life Homes in the bid stage have been cancelled.

Mardin Metropolitan Municipality provided food-clothing-shelter aid for families affected by clashes, paved streets, built parks, roads and infrastructure according to the demands of the people. They constructed 1000 km of asphalt roads and the Public Works and Engineering department built 96 Social Life Homes in 96 neighborhoods.

The Social Services Directorate provided food-clothing-shelter aid for 73.000 citizens affected by clashes.

Halting of the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality efforts by the appointed trustee has caused harm to hundreds of families.
