Trustee disrespects deceased politicians’ memory

The trustee appointed to the Yenişehir municipality has ordered the sign of the Husn-i Cihan Sports Complex built to honor the memories of late DTP politicians Hüsnü Ablay and Cihan Deniz to be painted white.

Trustees appointed to the DBP (Democratic Regions Party) municipalities continue to change the names of places named after symbolic persons in the region.

Amed's Yenişehir district trustee had first garnered attention when he ordered the removal of the Mehmed Uzun park and statue, and now has ordered the “Husn-i Cihan” part of the “Husn-i Cihan Sports Complex” sign to be painted white in the area known as the Yenişehir arboretum and picnic area.

The sports complex had been opened in 2014 and named after DTP politicians Hüsnü Ablay and Cihan Deniz who lost their lives on June 24, 2008 in a traffic accident in Antep.

HÜSNÜ ABLAY AND CİHAN DENİZ

Cihan Deniz and Hüznü Ablay were part of the DTP’s foundation efforts and members of the Free Citizens Movement. Cihan Deniz had been arrested in 1994 and released in 2004 after 10 years in prison. Hüsnü Ablay was also released from prison in 2004, also after 10 years.
