Turkey looking for village guards to fight for 300 Liras a day

The village guards in Şırnak city center and districts were offered 300 Liras a day to participate in the attacks against Afrin. Many of the guards rejected the offer.

Village guards in Şırnak city center and Silopi, Uludere and Beytüşşebap districts have been offered to participate in the attacks againt Afrin the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and their allied groups launched on January 20. The offer was delivered by military officials in the outposts in villages and towns the guards worked at, and the village guards were offered 300 Liras a day to participate in the clashes.

HEAD VILLAGE GUARDS INTERVENED

Some head village guards were also made to intervene to make the guards accept the offer. The village guards who are willing to take part in the attacks will be given a short military training. Members of the “Dagger” and “Flag” teams who were involved in many extrajudicial killings in Şırnak and its districts in the ‘90s and were put on trial for them have reportedly signed up for the operation, while many village guards outright refused to participate.
