People’s Defence Forces (HPG) reported that the activities of Turkish jets and unmanned aerial vehicles over Medya Defence Zones continue, as well as the bombardments launched by Turkish troops at the border of guerrilla areas.

People’s Defence Forces (HPG) Press Office issued a statement regarding the ongoing activities of Turkish air forces over guerrilla held areas as well as the bombardments launched by Turkish troops against guerrilla zones. .

HPG first reported on the reconnaissance flights performed by Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles over the following areas:

- Over the Gostê area at the border of Medya Defence Zones’ Xakurke region between 14:30 and 17:00 on August 16,

- Over the Zap region between 20:00 on August 16 and 04:00 on August 17,

- Over the Glidağ area of Bazid district of Ağrı at between 18:00 on 16 August and 01:00 on August 17,

- Over the Sarıkamış area of Kars at between 20:30 on 16 August and 11:00 on August 17,

Regarding the ongoing bombardments launched by Turkish troops with howitzers, mortars and heavy weaponry against guerrilla held areas, HPG gave the following information:

Bombardment launched from the Çete Hill military post at Zagros border targeted Mergê and Delta Hill areas between 16:00 and 17:00 on August 16.

Bombardment launched from the Oremar military post in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district targeted the Martyr Gafur area between 07:30 and 10:30 on August 16. Guerrilla forces strongly responded to the attack.

Bombardment launched from the Çete Hill and Sinek Hill military posts at the border of Heftanin targeted the Martyr Kendal area between 14:30 and 15:00 on August 16.

Bombardment launched from the Elemun military post at the border of Metina targeted its surrounding areas between 15:00 and 15:30 on August 16.

Bombardment launched from the Bilican military post at the border of Zap region targeted the Martyr Baran and Martyr Colemerg areas between 02:00 and 02:30 on August 17.
