The Press Centre of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information concerning the latest Turkish attacks against guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

The statement released on Friday includes the following:

“The invading Turkish army carried out large-scale attacks on Medya Defense Zones between April 1-6. The details of the attacks are as follows:

On April 1, between 11:30 and 14:30, the Karox area in the Qandil region was bombed 3 times by Turkish fighter jets.

On April 2, at 12:00, the Kurojahro and Sîda areas of the Zap region were bombed 5 times by Turkish fighter jets, and on April 3, the Girê Cudî area was bombed with howitzers fired from the outposts near the border line.

On April 3, between 21:00 and 23:00, Turkish helicopter mobility was reported on the Qaşura line in Metîna. During the same hours, the invading Turkish army bombed the vicinity of the villages of Hirore, Deşîşê and the Koordîne area with attack helicopters, and reinforced its troops in the Girê Azad area with helicopters.

On April 4, between 22:30 and 00:30, Turkish helicopter mobility was observed over the Mervanos area in the ​​Avaşîn region.

On April 4 and 5, the vicinity of Rêtikê and Rabeskê villages in the Garê region were bombed 5 times by Turkish fighter jets, Girê Hakkarî in Metîna 2 times and Saca area in Zap 3 times.

On April 6, Girê Hakkarî in the Metîna region was bombed with howitzers fired from the outposts near the border line and the Dola Bedranan area in Qandil was bombed 5 times by Turkish fighter jets. On the same day, at 22:00, the Girê Cudî area of ​​the Zap region was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

On April 6, between 20:00 and 1:50, the Werxelê area in the Avaşîn region was bombed 3 times by Turkish fighter jets and on April 7, the same area was bombed with howitzers fired from the outposts near the border line.

On April 6, between 19:00 and 21:30, the Girê FM, Kurojahro, Çiyayê Reş, Karker, Saca, Gundê Rêncbiraxa and Sîda areas in the Zap region were bombed 13 times by Turkish fighter jets. On the same day, between 16:30 and 20:00, the Girê FM area was bombed with howitzers fired from the outposts near the border line."
