It was reported that the Turkish army was forced to retreat from the town of Bermize (in the Sidekan district of the province of Diyana, region of Hewler) by the HPG guerrillas and the reaction of the people.
The Turkish army is carrying out actions aimed at occupying areas of Başur Kurdistan.
On 31 May the Turkish army tried to entered in Bermize with armoured vehicles but was prevented to do so by the reaction of local people and the actions carried out by the guerrillas.
The occupying forces are still on the hills around the village as well as on the Lêlîkan hills.
Sidekan District Spokesperson, İhsan Çelebi said: “The members of the Turkish Armed Forces who came to the village of Bermize were forced to retreat from the village and to withdraw to their headquarters".
Çelebi said that the invading Turkish army, who entered the village, were expecting the villagers of Bermize to help, but the people refused.
Local sources said that the occupation forces continued their invasions in the hills of Kireş, Bermize village, Gübete, Siro and Lelikan, which they occupied in the autumn and early April, despite withdrawing from Bermize.
The sources reported that the Turkish troops were forced to withdraw by the deputies and people’s reaction as well as the actions carried out by the guerrillas. This victory has boosted moral among the villagers.
