A large number of soldiers and village guards (local groups armed by the State to fight against the Kurds) are participating in the air-supported operation launched by the Turkish army in the countryside of Şırnak’s Beytüşşebap district.

The operation zone is located between the rural areas of Şırnak, Van and Hakkari provinces.

According to local sources, clash erupted during the operation. There is an intense activity of Turkish helicopters in the area.
