Turkish army stuck in Xeregol: 18 dead

The Turkish army launched an operation the other day on the Xeregol hill in Southern Kurdistan along the direction of Çukurca. In separate actions, 29 soldiers were killed there yesterday and 18 were killed today.

According to ANF reporters following clashes in the area, guerrilla action against the Turkish army that launched an operation on the Xeregol hill near Çukurca continues. The guerrilla have pulled the Turkish army out onto the plains where they killed 18 soldiers in various actions today.

Details on the actions are as follows:

Previously laid IEDs were detonated in an area a 12-soldier group gathered in Xeregol at 07.00. 9 soldiers died there while 3 were wounded.

In guerrilla actions on two points in Xeregol, 9 soldiers were killed.

The Turkish army reportedly carried their casualties to Çukurca with Sikorsky helicopters.

Aerial attacks on the area continue.

Meanwhile an assassination action was carried out in the Baye hill in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district yesterday at noon. There is no concrete information on the number of casualties there.
