In Derik district of Mardin where a curfew remains in effect for the sixth day, state forces have intensified their attacks against Cevizpınar, Zeytinpınar, Küçükpınar, Kale and Dağ neighborhoods as of early this morning.
Unable to enter the areas of self-rule, special operation teams have started to attack neighborhoods with bombs, which started a fire in many houses hit by bombs. Residents make an effort to put out the fire, which however remains inconclusive as police teams continue firing on them from armored vehicles.
In the meantime, a helicopter has bombed the Cevizpınar neighborhood at 11:00 local time, after which special operation teams have intensified their attacks against the area.
As black smokes are rising from the district amid blasts, no information was immediately available as to whether the helicopter shelling has left casualties or not.
