The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement announcing details of the latest airstrikes carried out by the Turkish army on Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.
According to the statement, Turkish jets shelled the Casusan Hill and the villages of Tutmê, Bêpalan, Golgamış and Silê on December 31.
Further air raids by the Turkish army targeted the following locations on January 1 afternoon:
- The Saca area and surroundings of the Zap river in Zap region,
- Vicinity of the Rênçberaxa village in the Chemcho area in Zap region,
- The area of Martyr Diren in Avashin region.
HPG added that guerrillas suffered no losses in these bombardments.
