Turkish police forces conducted a raid on the cemetery in Yeni neighborhood in Van's central İpekyolu district.
After laying siege around the cemetery, police forces first gathered the yellow-red-green flags- a symbol of the Kurdish people- on graves and burned all of them. Police later removed the writings and wrote 'TC' (Turkish Republic) on the tombstones of the guerrillas buried in the cemetery.
