Turkish Sikorsky helicopter damaged in Dersim
HPG reported that a Sikorsy-type helicopter of the Turkish army was hit and damaged in Dersim and the Osyan outpost in Siirt was hit as part of ongoing actions by guerrillas against the Turkish army.
HPG Press Office released the following statement providing information about the ongoing actions by guerrillas and attacks by the Turkish army in Kurdistan.
DERSİM
On 4 June, at 02.30, a group of guerrillas entered into conflict with Turkish army soldiers they encountered in the vicinity of Oluk valley in the Kemah district of Erzincan. While the number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be clarified, a guerrilla fell whilst putting up heroic resistance.
On the same day at 4:30 am, the occupying Turkish army bombarded the areas of Büyük (Large) Deraşoran and Küçük (Small) Deraşoran areas with howitzer and mortar shells for two hours.
On June 2, guerrillas hit a Sikorsy-type helicopter on an airlift mission to the batallion in the Nazimiye district of Dersim. As result of effective strikes, the helicopter was damaged and forced to return without completing the mission.
After the actions of guerrillas, the Turkish army forces on June 4 launched an operation in the area with disguised units. On the same day, guerrillas conducted an action after putting under surveillance a secret unit partaking in the operation.
Of the soldiers shot effectively, four were killed and two others were wounded. After the actions, the occupying Turkish army retreated, bombarding the area with howitzer and mortar shells.
SİİRT
Troops at Osyan Outpost, which is located in the Pervari district of Siirt, bombarded the Gırê Kaç area and the places where local people engaged in livestock were located at specific time intervals between 20:30 on June 2 and 17:30 hours on June 3.
ŞIRNAK
On 3 June, at 15.45 pm, a family on their way to cross the border of Uludere in Şırnak was attacked with heavy weapons from Yekmal outpost. As a result of these attacks, 4 civilians, including a child, got heavily wounded. Guerrillas intervened the Turkish forces and took away the civilians who were attacked from the area.
XAKURKE
Turkish warplanes bombed the Lêlikan zone in the Xakurke area of Medya Defense Zones on June 4 between the hours of 16.30 and 17.30.
