Several civilians from the village of Merkabe 27 km to the east of Grê Spî (Tal Abyad) were shot by Turkish soldiers while trying to cross the border into Bakurê (North) Kurdistan at around 08:00 this morning. Two civilians died and one other got seriously wounded as a result of the attack.

According to initial reports, those killed in the Turkish attack are 22 years old Mustafa Mihemed and 40 years old Gul Mihemed Temo. The wounded civilian has been identified as 29 years old Ebdulgani El Eli.
