Turkish troops suffer heavy blow in Uludere

HPG said in its daily statement that guerrillas conducted a sabotage action against an armored vehicle in Mazgirt district of Dersim at 09:00 on April 22. The vehicle was completely destroyed, leaving at least 3 soldiers dead and 2 others wounded. HPG said Turkish military launched an operation in the area and helicopters shelled the Göktepe territory in the wake of the guerrilla action which was conducted by Martyr Sefkan Team of Avenge in memory of their comrade Sefkan who fell in Rojdere.

In a separate action at 12:30 on April 22, guerrillas hit another armored vehicle of the Turkish army operating in the area between Kuroşino Hill and Metina region of PKK-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory. The number of casualties inflicted on the Turkish troop couldn't be clarified.

Turkish troops at Serbesta, Aruş and Elemun outposts at the border of Şırnak's Uludere district bombarded Kuroşino and Martyr Agir hills from 06:00 to 17:00 on April 22.

Kuroşino hill and Derarê hills were also shelled by Turkish jets between 00:00 of April 22 and 07:30 in the morning. In addition, Turkish helicopters airdropped soldiers in Kuroşino area at 03:30 last night.

During the same hours, guerrillas hit a Turkish troop advancing in the same area in two groups, as a result of which 8 soldiers were killed. The hill and surroundings were intensely bombed by Turkish jets after the clash here.

On April 21 and 22, Turkish UAVs conducted reconnaissance flights over Haftanin, Metina and Gare areas of Medya Defense Zones.
