Police forces conducted house raids in Amed (Diyarbakır) early Monday morning and detained two members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).

HDP former MP Edip Berk and HDP Party Assembly (PM) substitute member Gülşen Özer were taken into custody following a search in their flats.

Özer and Berk were reportedly detained because of the speeches they had delivered at the Newroz (Kurdish New Year) celebration in Bingöl province in 2018.
