Two Turkish military vehicles destroyed in Gever
Two armored vehicles of the Turkish army were destroyed and at least 8 soldiers were killed in the countryside of Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district.
In the early morning hours on Thursday, September 21, a cobra-type armored vehicle of the Turkish army was destroyed after detonation of a roadside IED in the rural area of Esendere town. During ensuing clashes that continued into the evening hours, 8 soldiers were killed and 7 others got heavily wounded.
At around 20:00 in the evening, a Turkish military convoy heading from Gever to Wargenima (Çobanbey) outpost was similarly targeted by a roadside IED in Yekmala Jor region. 10 soldiers were killed or wounded as result.
