Van is ready for the Conscience and Justice Vigil

The ‘Conscience and Justice Vigil’, launched by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in Amed and Istanbul, will start off in Van tomorrow.

Preparations for the ‘Conscience and Justice Vigil’ to be launched tomorrow in the city of Van are finished. A press statement has been issued at the HDP's office regarding the vigil.

HDP provincial co-chair Gülistan Orhan, Van provincial deputy co-chair Çetin Ergin, HDP Party Assembly member Zelal Karakaya, HDP Van MP Lezgin Botan and Batman MP Mehmet Ali Aslan.

Speaking at the press conference, HDP Van MP Lezgin Botan said: "The Conscience and Justice Vigil will continue tomorrow in Van, following those in Amed and Istanbul. We invite all intellectuals, writers, social organisations and the people to partake in our activity. Our vigil will go on for seven days. We demand justice for everyone. Our demand of justice is the demand of 80 million people."

HDP Parliamentarian for Batman Mehmet Ali Aslan also spoke, saying: "Our people showed great support for our vigils that took place in Amed and Istanbul. We have launched this Conscience and Justice Vigil for 80 million victimised people. No matter how much the state tries to stymie this vigil, everyone with conscience needs to fulfil their duty. Therefore we ask the people of Van to join the vigil tomorrow."
