Victory of Manbij will serve freedom in Syria

Manbij Military Assembly’s liberation of Manbij will end the threats of ISIS gangs against Kobane and make the border between Kobanê canton and the Jarablus-Manbij region more concrete.

Manbij Military Assembly is composed of forces that seek change and transformation in Syria and can intervene in the war democratically in order to serve the interests of people in Syria and to answer the calls for freedom, justice, change, and transformation.

Announced in April, Manbij Military Assembly was established upon the requests of people living in and around Manbij. The ‘operation to liberate Manbij’ is an important and strategic test for the constituents of Manbij Military Assembly.

Manbij Military Assembly’s liberation of Manbij will end the threats of ISIS gangs against Kobane and make the border between Kobane canton and the Jarablus-Manbij region more concrete.

With its geography and location, Manbij is of strategic importance to ISIS gangs, who will receive a heavy blow with the town’s liberation. This is because Manbij both connects the roads between Iraq and Syria and is ISIS’ gateway to Europe.

Manbij is strategically important because the Mosul-Raqqa-Manbij route connects Iraq to Syria and the Manbij-Aleppo-Shehba and Manbij-Jarablus-Azaz routes connect the gangs with the outside world.

The liberation of Manbij will partially remove the threats of ISIS gangs against Kobanê and turn the area surrounding the Euphrates into a secure region.

The securing of the Euphrates will enable the cultivation of arable land and bring the large wheat fields that cannot be cultivated due to ISIS attacks back to life. This will also end the embargo of the Turkish state, Barzani, and the KDP on Rojava, particularly Kobanê.

ISIS GANGS WILL LOSE THEIR MOST STRATEGIC STRONGHOLD

With the liberation of Manbij, ISIS gangs will lose their most strategic stronghold after Hawl and Shaddadi. Manbij Military Assembly will take control of most of the ISIS connection routes in Iraq and Syria. The liberation of Manbij, which is one of the biggest towns in the region, will clear the region from ISIS gangs.

ISIS GANGS TO RECEIVE AN ECONOMIC BLOW

As is known, ISIS gangs receive the majority of their income from the sales of petroleum. ISIS gangs sell petroleum to Syria, Iraq and Turkey through Manbij, and the town is strategically important for its role in the sales of petroleum.

ISIS gangs have been selling crude oil from Iraq and Syria to Turkey with the help of the Turkish state and the KDP in South Kurdistan. The sales of petroleum through Jarablus also helped the economy of the AKP.

ISIS uses the money it receives from petroleum sales to buy arms, and the liberation of Manbij will deprive the gangs of this income and start an economic crisis. Gangs in Raqqa, Dera Zor and Shehba will most likely experience a severe economic crisis

To conclude, the liberation of Manbij will demonstrate the effectiveness of Manbij Military Assembly, besiege Jarablus, and inflict a heavy blow on the gangs.
