The 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command in the Şırnak city center saw some activity yesterday. Reports say dozens of people on duty as village guards in various villages were called in to the division.

The village guards being called in to the division in a rush is considered to signal a possible operation on Besta and Cudi, rural areas within the city center.

It had come to light earlier that funerals were held the other day in Şırnak for three soldiers whose names were not released.

The soldiers in question were allegedly killed in Besta.
