The operation of the Turkish military in the northern Kurdistan mountains of Cudi and Gabar in the province of Şırnak has been going on for seven days. Thousands of soldiers and village guards are involved in the operation. Again and again shots are heard from the combat area and the mountains are bombarded by helicopters.
The region has been completely declared a military restricted area. The operation is participated by many village guards from Qilaban (Uludere). It was learned that a greater number of them broke out of their positions and returned home after fighting erupted.
