The Turkish military is terrorizing the civilian population in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) not only from the air. On Friday evening, Turkish soldiers attacked people from the villages of Dila, Malmaluk and Midan in Sidekan in Hewlêr governorate and mistreated and abducted twelve of them. Horses of the villagers were shot by the soldiers. An eyewitness reported, "The Turkish army stopped the villagers who were on their way to collect wild turnips in the mountains. The Turkish military took them away. The soldiers shot at the villagers' horses and killed them."
The eyewitness states that the victims were mistreated by the soldiers. It is not yet known where the villagers were taken.
The attacks and abductions contradict international law and the sovereignty of Iraq and the autonomy of the region of Southern Kurdistan. However, the KDP, which is ruling in South Kurdistan, remains silent about these attacks and supports Turkey in its invasion attacks.
