State forces bombard Şırnak as the curfew in the city enters its 26th day. One special operations police officer died during the clashes in Yeni Mahalle neighborhood yesterday evening.
State forces began to bombard Şırnak this morning as the genocidal curfew attacks enter their 26th day. Soldiers focused their bombardment on İsmetpaşa, Cumhuriyet, Gazipaşa, Yeni Mahalle and Bahçelievler neighborhoods, where many houses caught on fire.
One special operations police officer died during the clashes that took place between the state forces trying to enter Yeni Mahalle and YPS and YPS-JIN forces. The body of the dead officer was taken to the 23rd Gendarme Border Division Command, and the clashes that intensified after this casualty continued until later in the night. Neighborhoods such as Tekser, Vakıfkent and Gündoğdu experienced clashes for the first time, and the military deployment and aerial activities in the city continue.
Lastly, a young person called Mevlüt Güngen was detained in the Nerex (Dağkonak) village of Gundikê Melê (Balveren) region yesterday evening and has been kept at Şırnak Police Headquarters.
