HPG Media Center issued a written statement on guerilla actions and the recent attacks of the Turkish state.

GUERILLA ACTION IN BAYKAN

HPG guerillas carried out an action against two trenches of the Verxanıs military base in Siirt’s Baykan district at 19:00 on May 5 from two different directions. The numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified, and the Turkish army carried out an unsuccessful operation in the region on May 6.

OPERATION IN HİZAN

The Turkish army launched an operation in the Akünüs, Herat and Azê villages of Bitlis’ Hizan district on May 5, and soldiers ended the operation after raiding several houses in the area.

THE TURKISH ARMY USED CLUSTER BOMBS IN MAZGİRT

The Turkish army used cluster bombs during its operation in the Xıştan, Derwêşan, Şobek and İbni Mahmut regions of Dersim’s Mazgirt district on May 4. HPG warned civilians living in the area to be wary of the effects of the cluster bombs.

ACTION WITH HEAVY WEAPONRY IN ŞEMZİNAN

HPG guerillas carried out an action with heavy weaponry against the soldiers positioned around the Geniş Hill of Hakkari’s Şemzinan district between 09:00 and 14:00 on May 7. The numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified, and Kobra-type helicopters hit the nearby region of Kurê Mızgefte between 15:30 and 18:30 on the same day.

KOBRA HELICOPTERS HIT STUNA HILL

The Turkish army’s Kobra-type helicopters hit the Stuna Hill of Şırnak’s Uludere district between 08:00 and 08:30 on May 8. The helicopters withdrew after the response of HPG guerillas with heavy weaponry.

WARPLANES BOMBARDED GUERILLA ZONES

Turkish warplanes bombarded Suredê, Beyvana, Enzê and Bêpalan villages of Medya Defense Zones’ Qandil region between 02:00 and 03:00 on May 7, the Yekmalê village of Garê region and the Kuro Jaro area and Sergelê village of Zap and Amediye regions, respectively, between 02:00 and 02:30 on the same day.
