YJA Star guerrilla Çiyajin Cefaneyi was born in Cizre and fought in Kobanê before joining the resistance in Heftanin.
She was addressing all women from Cenga Heftanin. She called out, believing that it was women who created the hope, the liberators.
She spoke about advocates of justice, men without love who kill women. And she was saying; "A woman can change a process if she wants."
YJA Star guerrilla Çiyajin Cefaneyi was born in Cizre, in the city of Mem û Zîn, a city that was burned, destroyed, hit thousands of times but never ceased to resist. She grew up there and got to know the Freedom Movement there. And with the call of Kurdistan people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, she went to take her place in the epic written in Kobanê in 2014. She saw the Botan guerrillas who answered the cry of Kobanê and fell in love with them.
When the war ended, guerrilla Çiyajin, realizing that she would not be able to live in cities, came to the mountains of Kurdistan. The first stop was Heftanin, one of the guerrilla's paradise places. And she is still resisting as a YJA Star guerrilla who fought against the invaders in Cenga Heftanin and believed in victory.
The last time I saw her, I interviewed her and she spoke about the struggle of women. Guerrilla Çiyajin, speaking with conviction and acceptance, said: "As a woman, taking part in Cenga Heftanin is a different thing. A guerrilla's point of view is also different. You are going through difficult times and processes here. It is different for women to fight against everyone with self-recognition. It is different to put forward the perspective. Fighting as our organization showed us. The organization really raised us like children. Woman now knows and knows her will. She is fighting with her will.”
She added: “It was YJA Star guerrillas who shot down a Cobra for the first time. YJA Star carried out tremendous actions on the hills. There have always been female guerrillas and fought in the most difficult areas. The colour of women was very clear in Cenga Heftanin. The enemy is attacking particularly women's areas.
Every woman has the power to change the process. The woman walks in believing in her own strength. As the YJA Star guerrillas; We led the restructuring [of guerrilla tactics] in Cenga Heftanin and we will do it from now on."
