Writer and political observer Masud Ebdulxaliq made important statements regarding the situation in South Kurdistan.
Drawing attention to the future of Iraq and the problem of the Presidency, Mesud Ebdulxaliq said: "The days ahead of us will be full of great changes. Therefore, the President of Iraq must be a very competent person. Because in the next 4 years, especially in 2023, issues such as the Turkey issue in the Kurdistan Region will be on the table and at the moment, the status of the Kurdistan Region is very weak. This happened especially during the attempts by the KDP in the formation of the government with the Sadr Movement. All these changes show us that South Kurdistan will be inflicted great harm."
South Kurdistan is in great danger
Mentioning the transfer of oil and gas from South Kurdistan to Turkey, Mesud Ebdulxaliq said: "In one of his statements, Erdoğan talked about the oil he will transfer from South Kurdistan by saying, 'I will heat Turkish houses with gas, just as I would heat Turkish homes with oil.' We said that this natural gas agreement was a big blow to the Kurdistan Region at a time when their homes were cold. If the Kurdistan Regional Government continues like this, it will deal big blows to the people of the South."
Noting that the Iraqi Federal Court ruled in February that the independent sale of regional oil is illegal, Mesud Ebdulxaliq continued: "The decisions of the Iraqi Federal Court are political, but the Iraqi government has the right to implement them. The gas issue would have become as insignificant as the oil issue if it had not prevented the unofficial gas agreement between the KDP. We define Iraq, Turkey and Iran as the invaders and enemies of the Kurds, but the real threat to the Kurdistan Region is actually the government of South Kurdistan that directs and gives the opportunity to attack against our status."
