Turkish state forces have attacked the Xerzan Martyrs' Cemetery located between Bitlis and its Hizan district.

Reports say soldiers and special operation teams have attacked the cemetery of fallen Kurdish fighters early Tuesday morning, and a number of construction equipment have been sent to the scene.

While Turkish troops have blocked the Bitlis-Hizan road in an attempt to hinder access to the cemetery, DBP and HDP Bitlis branches have called on people to protect the graveyard against attacks.

Internet and phone networks have also been cut off in the area.
