Yazidi Community Coordination Member Mam Beşir was laid to rest in the Şehîd Dilgeş and Berxwedan Cemetery of Martyrs.
Hundreds of people attended the funeral ceremony of Yazidi Community Coordination Member Mam Beşir (Hesen Dûtar) at the Şehîd Dilgeş and Berxwedan Cemetery of Martyrs in Shengal (Sinjar) on Thursday.
Mam Bashir's coffin was taken from Khanasor district by hundreds of people in the morning hours.
'WE WILL FOLLOW YOUR STRUGGLE'
Fighters of the Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) also held a military ceremony.
Speaking on behalf of YBŞ at the ceremony, Tirêj Şengalîi said, "In the person of Mam Bashir, all plans have been frustrated. We will endorse Mam Bashir's struggle to the end. We will fight to protect Shengal's gains."
Speaking on behalf of the Yazidi Freedom and Democracy Party (PADÊ), Hisên Hecî called attention to the struggle of Mam Bashir and said, "He struggled for the freedom of the Kurdish people and his own people for 37 years. He had a dream, which was to be buried next to Mam Zekî.".
In her speech on behalf of the family, Sebriye Dûtar, the wife of Mam Bashir, said, "My condolences to all the Kurdish people and Leader Abdullah Öcalan. We gave a martyr who fought for 37 years. This is for the honor of the people of Shengal."
Speaking on behalf of Free Yazidi Women's Movement (TAJÊ), Naima Şemo said, "We will follow Mam Bashir's struggle to the end. Mam Bashir struggled bravely for the autonomy of Shengal."
After the speeches, Mam Bashir's funeral ceremony was carried out.
A tent opened in Martyr Dilgeş and Berxwedan Martyrs' Cemetery will remain open for 5 days according to the tradition of Yazidîs.
