As reactions grow against the Turkish state’s airstrikes on Shengal after an attempt to invade Khanasor, YBŞ fighters stated that they would not allow any attempt of invasion against Shengal and called upon the youth to join the ranks of resistance.

Speaking to ANF, YBŞ fighters stated that the best response to the attacks would be to enhance the resistance of YBŞ and Shengal, stressing that they would fight until the last drop of their blood no matter where the attacks come from.

"WE WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO PLAY WITH OUR FUTURE"

YBŞ fighter Kendal Çiya stated that the plan to invade Khanasor was the new attack concept of Turkish invasion and local collaboration, and said: “The occupants had no option but to carry out airstrikes because of their failure to yield results against the firm resistance we put up with our people. As you know, the occupant Turkish state’s attacks on Shengal have increased recently in the form of airstrikes with the help of local collaborators. In fact, attacks on Khanasor mark the beginning of this process. They thought that they could occupy Khanasor easily and without facing resistance. They wanted to play with Shengal’s people’s dreams, desire to govern themselves, and their resistance and gains revealed over the past three years. However, they were met with the firm resistance of our people and the fighters of Shengal, so they saw that they do not have the power or the legitimacy to invade the region. After the defeat in Khanasor, they carried out airstrikes in cahoots with local collaborators in order to achieve a result. Actually, efforts have been made to eliminate the YBŞ since its establishment through dirty plans and specific plans of war led by the KDP. They have sought to eliminate the stance of Êzidîs on basis of distancing the people from YBŞ by telling lies, spreading fear and unease, imposing an embargo and employing spying activities. They have failed to do this. They planned military attacks and invasion attempts once they failed to end the popular support and the growth of YBŞ. The Turkish state had clearly declared its intensions and the mission of the KDP as it openly said ‘We will intervene if the KDP fails to accomplish a result'.

"WE MUST RESIST THE INVASION JUST LIKE HOW WE RESISTED ON AUGUST 3"

Çiya noted that they have frustrated the attacks and this situation increased the morale and self-confidence of the people and the fighters. He continued: “The failure of the attacks to result in casualties and frustration of the attacks increased the morale and self-confidence of our people and fighters. However, we must be prepared for further attacks and dirty alliances so that we give a historic response and use the opportunity that we have for freedom and social victory. Our people should see that we have the power to repel attacks without fearing attempts of betrayal and defend the sacred Mount Shengal. We must resist new attacks just like how we resisted and did not surrender on August 3 despite all the lack of means. Everyone must enhance the struggle against the Turkish state and the KDP without considering financial gains and plots of the enemy. All our people, particularly the youth, should embrace the YBŞ and continue to join our ranks.”

"WE HAVE THE POWER TO RESPOND TO ALL ATTACKS"

Another YBŞ fighter Agit Botan expressed his anger at the Turkish state's attacks on Qereçox and Shengal, which he said aimed to break the will of the people and make them surrender. Botan continued: "The best response to these attacks will be to join the YBŞ and YJŞ and enhance the struggle. On this basis, we can march toward a free Shengal on the path of our martyrs. There is no way to emancipation other than enhancing our struggle and battle. This struggle is the only way to liberate Shengal and Kurdistan. We have the power to respond to all attacks and we are determined to resist and fight against them. We will sacrifice ourselves for our people and not allow another massacre or invasion. All Êzidî youth must play their leading role and join the YBŞ. History and our martyrs order us to do so.”

"WE WILL RESIST WITH ALL OF OUR BEING"

YBŞ fighter Ezdin Şoreş emphasized that enemies of the Êzidî people employ all tactics in order to prevent Êzidîs from governing themselves, and stated that they will resist to the last drop of their blood no matter where the attacks come from. Şoreş said “Serious attacks were carried out against our people on March 3. As YBŞ-YJŞ fighters, we firmly responded to these attacks. Once they saw that these attacks could not produce results, the Turks expanded their concept of attacks with aerial bombardments. They hit YBŞ positions with warplanes but they failed to achieve their goals once again. We will resist all attacks no matter where they come from and prevent the invasion of our land.

"WE WILL FIGHT UNTIL THE LAST DROP OF OUR BLOOD"

They are doing everything they can in order to prevent our people from organizing and governing themselves, and YBŞ-YJŞ from growing. The enemies of our people are employing all tactics in order to eliminate the struggle of our people. We will resist the invasion with all our might. We will enhance our organization and power even further. Our people are determined to defend their land until their last drop of blood and they will never leave it. As YBŞ fighters and children of this people, we ask the Êzidî people to protect holy Shengal lands and increase their support for the struggle in response to the attacks. We call upon our youth to ensure further participation in YBŞ ranks, which is the best response to be given to those attacking and betraying us. Our people should not be possessed by fear in the face of these dirty plots because we will fight until the last drop of our blood and not give our lands to the occupants.
