YBŞ Commander Ciger Guyi talked about the 'Operation Vengeance for Martyrs of Shilo' which -he said- was started to "avenge our martyrs and our people who lost their lives in the massacre”.
Guyi, one of the commanders in the ranks of the YBŞ (Shengal Resistance Units), stated that they had liberated an area of 20 square kilometers, killed 107 ISIS members and obtained large amounts of ammunition from the ISIS gangs during the operation.
YBŞ commander Ciger Guyi informed the ANF on the 'Operation Vengeance for Martyrs of Shilo'.
Guyi stated that ISIS gangs are focusing their attacks in the Shilo region where YBŞ, YJŞ, HPG and YJA-STAR forces are stationed after the liberation of Shengal. He said the gangs intensify their attacks because they are the only ones left in the region and that the coalition forces are not aiding them.
Guyi said they started the 'Operation Vengeance for Martyrs of Shilo' after 5 HPG guerillas lost their lives in the latest ISIS attack.
"TO AVENGE OUR PEOPLE AND OUR MARTYRS"
YBŞ commander continued: “We started this operation to avenge our people who lost their lives in the massacre and our martyrs. Our friends liberated an approximately 20 square kilometer area and the hills under ISIS control in that area, and we seized dozens of bodies and large amounts of ammunition. Then we turned our face to Mediban. We first surrounded the village of Mediban which had been under siege for around a week. Later, our comrades attacked Mediban village from three sides. There were very heavy clashes in these attacks. Our comrades destroyed 5 suicide vehicles belonging to the gangs. Then they attacked ISIS posts with their individual weapons and liberated Mediban. In this liberation maneuver 107 gang members were killed and 73 bodies and large amounts of ammunition was seized from the gangs.”
YBŞ commander Ciger Guyi also announced that they will continue on with their struggle.
