YBŞ General Command issued a written statement on recent ISIS attacks in Shengal and announced that YBŞ/YJŞ forces repelled 6 ISIS attacks on the village of Mediban and Shilo highland. 18 gangs were killed and the bodies of 8 gangs were seized during the attacks in Shengal.

In its written statement, YBŞ said that ISIS gangs attacked the village of Mediban and Shilo highland around 04:30 yesterday and used car bombs in order to break the YBŞ resistance. The General Command noted that YBŞ/YJŞ forces repelled the attacks successfully, and the gangs could not cut the connection between the village and the highland.

YBŞ announced that 6 ISIS groups carried out the attacks from different directions, but were met with the stern resistance of YBŞ/YJŞ fighters who received the ground support of HPG/YJA-STAR guerillas and the aerial support of international coalition warplanes. The General Command described Mediban village and Shilo highland as strategic defense areas, thanked the powers supporting the YBŞ/YJŞ, and said that 18 gangs were killed and 9 gangs were injured during the attacks.

YBŞ General Command stated that the bodies of 8 ISIS gangs were seized, and the number of ISIS casualties during the bombardment of international coalition warplanes has not yet been clarified. YBŞ noted that 5 Kalashnikovs, 2 machine guns, one rocket propeller, 1 handgun, 1 wireless device, 1 camera, 5 bags, and many rockets and ammunition were seized, and 1 armored vehicle, 1 machine gun and 2 Hammer-type vehicles were destroyed during the attacks.

YBŞ added that coalition warplanes bombarded the village of Tewra 5 times and destroyed 1 Hammer-type vehicle and 1 Katyusha mechanism. The number of ISIS casualties in Tewra has not yet been clarified.

Lastly, YBŞ announced that 2 YBŞ fighters got lightly injured and 2 YBŞ fighters fell as martyrs as they heroically fought ISIS gangs. Below is the ID information of the 2 deceased YBŞ fighters:
