As Turkish state forces continue attacking civilians in the Kurdish region of Turkey, a third curfew has been declared in Bismil district of Amed today. The curfew for Ulutürk, Dumlupınar, Fırat and Tekel neighborhoods will last until a further notice.
The imposition of the curfew has in the meantime been announced to the people from the loudspeakers of mosques rather then by an official statement of Diyarbakır or Bismil governor's offices.
During the previous recent curfews in the district, Turkish state forces killed four people, two of whom were children.
In the recent period of Turkey's war against the Kurds, imposition of a curfew has become the first step of onslaughts by state forces against civilians in the Kurdish region.
All the curfews have been followed by the deployment of further military and police forces which later start attacking the civilians under the cover of fight against terror. It is worth noting that curfews are imposed on towns where people have recently declared self-rule in response to the never-ending persecution and murders they suffer in the hands of 'security forces'.
