YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) guerrillas Avestan Xabûr and Ronahi Herekol spoke to ANF about the Turkish invasion attacks in South Kurdistan and the partnership of the ruling Kurdish party KDP.
Guerrilla Avestan Xabûr stated that the invading Turkish state was currently carrying out violent attacks on guerrilla areas, saying, “The war waged here is a fight for survival for the Kurdish people. The Turkish army seeks to achieve results by eliminating the guerrilla forces, but we, as the Kurdistan freedom guerrillas, will never allow the Turkish troops to pass.”
Xabur pointed out that the current war was not an ordinary one, vowing that they would defend Kurdistan, liberate the people of Kurdistan and remove the isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan at Imrali.
Another guerrilla, Ronahi Herekol, underlined that they would emerge victorious from the current war, adding, “the guerrilla forces have made arrangements to that end.”
Herekol noted that their preparations are based on two features. The first one relates to the ideology and philosophy of Öcalan, and the second concerns innovation in guerrilla warfare.
"Even though the enemy attempts to stop the guerrilla forces through relentless attacks, guerrillas always frustrate the advanced warfare of the Turkish army,” she noted.
“At the end of this war, the enemy will be defeated, and we will win. In this way, we will achieve the freedom of Öcalan and the people of Kurdistan,” Herekol added.
The female fighters also evaluated the KDP’s partnership in the Turkish invasion attacks. “We are calling out to the people of South Kurdistan: Do not allow KDP’s betrayal, do not make your children fight against the guerrilla. We also call on all women and youth to raise their voice against this betrayal. Expand your struggle, take sides with the guerrilla,” YJA Star guerrilla Xabur said.
Herekol also stated that the KDP directly supported the Turkish invaders and urged all the people of Kurdistan to defy it.
“We call on all Kurdish people, young and old alike, to take to the streets for protests. The Kurdish youth and women in particular should join the guerrilla ranks. They should adopt a stance against this occupation,” she added.
