The police crackdown on the rally in Mezopotamya neighborhood on October 18 had left two youths wounded, Ömer Sertkaya on the knee and Ahmet Ünal in the stomach.
Late yesterday evening, Ünal lost his life at Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital where he had been held under treatment since.
Following a post-mortem examination at hospital, Ünal was taken back to his hometown Kızıltepe where he was laid to rest in Mezopotamya Neighborhood Cemetery last night.
The funeral was attended by executives of DBP, HDP and MEYA-DER and representatives of many institutions. He was laid to rest to the accompaniment of the slogan "Şehit namirin" [Martyrs are immortal].
