People’s Defense Units (YPG) Press Office has reported in a written statement that at least 5 members of gang groups were killed in clashes in Kobanê, Girê Spî and Aleppo.

YPG reported that the ISIS gangs attempted at an attack in the surroundings of Ayn Isa town of Kobanê at around 13:00 on October 7, adding that the gang groups, which carried out the attack near Mixeyrim village were strongly responded by the Defense Units. One gang member was killed and one other was wounded in a short clash that took place in the area.

Additionally, the gang groups attempted to infiltrate into the YPG-controlled area between Şergirat ve Heşê villages to the east of Ayn Isa. The gang groups were forced to flee the area as a result of a strong response by Defense Units.

OPERATION IN GIRE SPÎ COMPLETED

YPG went on reporting about the operation launched by the Defense Units following the attacks of the gang groups near Girê Spî at the night of October 6. YPG said the operation was successfully completed, during which 2 gang members were killed and some ammunition was seized.

YPG also reported about the clashes taking place in Aleppo, saying that the effective hits by the YPG/YPJ continue in response to the attacks of Al-Nusra affiliated gang groups on Şêx Meqsûd (Sheikh Maqsoud) neighbourhood of Aleppo. YPG said the Defense Units carried out an offensive on an emplacement of the gangs in Bostan Pasha Neighbourhood yesterday and left two gang members dead.
