YPG General Command sent 2 letters to ISSG Ceasefire Task Force in Syria regarding the Turkish state’s attacks on Qamişlo and the gangs’ assaults on Aleppo’s Şêx Meqsûd neighborhood.
The YPG stated the following in its letter regarding the attack on Qamişlo:
“We would like to state that Qamişlo’s Cirnik neighborhood was attacked with heavy weaponry at 11:30 on March 31. The Turkish army opened fire on Qamişlo, and the house of a citizen was heavily damaged.
3 mortars fell on Qamişlo’s Xerbî neighborhood at 08:30 on April 1, 2016. The Turkish army fired these mortars, two of which fell on a house.
The third mortar fell on the El-Nebî Salih mosque. The mortar damaged the mosque, and created fear and panic among civilian citizens.
The Turkish army also attacked different parts of Qamişlo on March 31. ”
In its second letter, the YPG noted the following:
“We would like to state that gang groups bombarded Aleppo’s Şêx Meqsud neighborhood with rockets and mortars at 16:00 on April 1, 2016. The bombardment came from the areas controlled by Sultan Murad Brigade, Ahrar Al-Sham, the 16th division, El-Fetih Brigade, Ceyş El-Mucahidîn, Festeqim Kema Emert Groups, Nûreddîn Zenkî Brigades, Seken El-Şiqêf and Seken El-Şababî. These attacks caused great destruction and damage in the neighborhood.”
