YPG refutes Turkish media claims on YPG members fighting in Turkey

YPG refuted claims reported by several news outlets in Turkey that “members of the YPG who were trained by the United States of America in Rojava, Syria, have been fighting in Turkey and cities of north Kurdistan.”

People's Defense Units (YPG) General Command has released a statement refuting claims reported by several news outlets in Turkey that “members of the YPG who were trained by the United States of America in Rojava, Syria, have been fighting in Turkey and cities of north Kurdistan.”

The statement by YPG said that; “These reports published by Turkish media are totally incorrect and fabricated, they aim to cause damage to democratic improvements achieved in Rojava and destabilize military cooperation between the Defense Units and the Anti-ISIS International Coalition, the same partnership that has reached a very advanced level and endures a strong and effective contribution to the fight against terrorism in the region.”

YPG General Command added that their official position towards the ongoing conflict inside Turkish border between the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Turkey was clearly stated on August 1, 2015 that they were not a part of that war.
