YPG Media Center announced that gang groups attacked Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood and several villages across Kobanê. In its statement, YPG noted that gang groups Sultan Murad Brigade, Ahrar Al-Sham, 16th Battalion, Al-Fetih Brigade, Sultan Mihemed Al Fetih Brigade, Al Mucahidin Army, Suwar Al-Sham, Ahrar Suruye, Jabhat Al Shamiye, Siqor Al Jabal, 101th Battalion, Foc Alewal, Jabhat Al-Turkmen, Ebû Emera Battalion, Al Islam Army, Festeqim Kema Emert Group, 13th Brigade, Al Shemaliye Battalion and Nûreddîn Zenkî Brigade continued their joint attacks on Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood. YPG stated that the gangs attacked Sheikh Maqsoud multiple times on May 22 and 23, and 4 gang members died during the resistance of YPG/YPJ forces here.

YPG announced that ISIS gangs attacked Kobanê’s Şêxler town from their positions in south Jarablus at 13:00 on May 22 and between 22:00 and 22:30 on May 23. ISIS gangs also attacked the area to the east of Kobanê’s Tişrîn dam between 18:00 and 20:00 on May 22, and at 01:00 and 13:00 on May 23, and the area to the southwest of the dam between 21:00 and 23:00 on May 23.

Lastly, ISIS gangs attached the village of Qereqozax to the southwest of Kobanê with heavy weaponry at 09:00, 14:00 and 17:30 on May 23. None of these ISIS attacks yielded any results due to the resistance of YPG/YPJ.
