YPG Press Office reported that the joint attacks of Syrian National Coalition (SNC) affiliated gang groups against the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo continued.

Accordingly, attacks of Lîwaa Sultan Murad, Ahrar Al-Sham, Division 16, Lîwaa El-Fetih, Lîwa Siltan Mihemed El Fetêh, Arteşa El Mucahidîn, Suwar Al-Sham, Ahrar Suruye, Jabhat Al-Shamiye, Siqor El Cebel, Division 101, Foc Alewal, Jabhat Al Tirkmen, Battalion Ebû Emera, Arteşa Al Îslam, Kombûna Festeqim Kema Emert, Lîwa 13emîn, Division Al-Shamaliye and Battalion Nûreddîn Zenkî gangs on the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood continued.

STRONG RESPONSE TO GANGS' ATTEMPTS OF INFILTRATION

According to the statement, gang groups attacked the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, Girê Şikeyf, 20. Avenue and Pîno village with mortars and hell cannons on June 5 and 6. Gang groups concurrently made several attempts of infiltration, to which YPG forces responded strongly, resulting in severe clashes in the mentioned areas. While the casualties inflicted on the gangs during clashes couldn't be clarified, one gang member was killed as YPG forces repelled an attack conducted from the Ashrafiya direction.

Three fighters of the YPG who fought bravely in the repulsion of the gangs' attacks were martyred during the clashes of the past three days.

Gang groups also attacked the Başemrê village of Afrin's Şerawa district with mortars and hell cannons in the evening hours of June 5.

OPERATION AGAINST GANGS

In the evening of June 5 and morning of June 6, ISIS gangs conducted a series of attacks targeting the Şêxler town to the southwest of Kobanê with heavy weaponry from their positions in Lower and Upper Jarablus. YPG forces retaliated against the attacks and conducted an operation on the gangs. The death toll inflicted on the gang groups couldn't be made clear.

At 00:30 on June 6, YPG forces conducted another operation against a gang group preparing for an attack 3 km south of the Mekmen village in Shadad town. 2 members of the gangs were captured dead, while a large quantity of ammunition of theirs was also seized.

TURKISH ARMY CONTINUES TO TARGET ROJAVA

YPG continued, reporting ongoing attacks by Turkish military against the lands of Rojava. Within the scope of these attacks, Turkish forces carried out an attack with heavy weapons targeting the YPG positions in Ziyaret village to the west of Kobanê at around 22:00 on June 6.
