Qendîl Intîqam, a guerrilla fighter in the ranks of the East Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK), spoke to ANF on the occasion of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan’s birthday on April 4.

The YRK guerrilla pointed out that Öcalan was born at a time when the Kurdish reality was forgotten. “The cause of the leader got beyond the borders of Kurdistan and spread to the entire world,” he said.

Pointing to the fact that Öcalan is widely embraced across Kurdistan and the world, he said, “It is a humanitarian duty to embrace leader Öcalan.”

Calling for enhanced support for Öcalan, the YRK guerrilla said: “Our people in four parts of Kurdistan, the young people in particular, should manifest a strong stance and attitude against capitalist states.”

Intîqam stated that the isolation of Öcalan was actually directed against the entire Kurdish people, calling for a struggle based on this fact.
